How to Prepare for a Yoga Teacher Training Course

How to prepare for a Yoga Teacher Training Course

Have you ever wondered that I must pack my bags, take a leap of faith and sign up for a 200 Hour Yoga TTC in India. Although this decision cannot be made overnight a lot of research about which school to enroll for. This decision can be very similar to choosing a college course but with an ounce of faith and trusting our inner voice we can make it happen.

So here are a few pointers to keep in mind before we enroll that will help us prepare for the Yoga Teacher Training program:

Be open-minded :

The first step to keep in mind is to be very open minded and not have any fixations when it comes to what I will be learning at the Yoga TTC, we mist understand that there are several lineages and traditions of yoga styles. Each lineage has its own peculiar style and they are slightly different from each other, nevertheless one must remember to just surrender and learn and dive into in this beautiful experience with an open-mind.

Read more think less:

We cannot stress enough the importance of reading and how much there is to learn. The subject of yoga is as vast as the ocean and even one lifetime is not enough to learn about this wondrous philosophy. There are  several materials and books one can refer to apart from books there are many blogs, videos, articles that one can read specially f you’re an absolute beginner.

Practice and all is coming:

No matter where you are at in your practice whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced practitioner if you have decided to enroll for a Yoga  TTC you must begin to dedicate a small amount of time on the mat.

When we practice daily it helps us become more aware of our body and helps us understand the dynamics and body mechanics better. The only way to keep moving forward in our yoga journey is to practice daily.

Don’t stress:

Traveling to another country can sound stressful and the thought may create some anxiety. But one must realize that if we do not step out of our comfort zone there will be no growth. All the growth that we are meant to go through happens outside our comfort zone.

So with a very positive mindset we must embark on this journey to accept whatever is ready to unfold.

Have faith:

Don’t let the analytical mind create boundaries and obstacles that will only create barriers and make you question the entire process.

Learn to let go and  trust the divine and let the journey happen.

At Shivoham Yoga School the 200 Hour Yoga TTC  is designed and curated keeping in mind the different aspects and topics of Yoga like Meditation, philosophy, Mantra chanting, Anatomy, Pranayama.

Why We should do Yoga Teacher Training?

Why We should do Yoga Teacher Training?

Can we do Yoga Teacher training and why?

Have you ever felt that your life has no meaning and no direction or life seems to be unfair and a lot of questions remain unanswered and we live in this bubble of confusion and keep fighting with our thoughts day and night. That’s exactly how I felt a few years back, but thankfully I decided to take the plunge and dive deep into my Yoga Practice and registered for a 200 Hour Teacher Training in Rishikesh. Before the course began I had no idea what was I in for, I didn’t even know that I’m in for a Total Transformation Course.

In the previous blog I wrote about my yoga journey so in this one I will be writing about why one should do a TTC. First of all a TTC is not only meant for people interested in becoming yoga teacher’s but for anyone interested in learning more about Yoga or about themselves.

A Yoga Teacher Training course can change your entire personality, even though it’s a short course of time the way it impacts your nature is something you will never be able to fathom.Yoga Teacher Training course is a program designed to create discipline in your life, so clearly a Yoga TTC is something that brings you back on track and gives your life a new direction and new meaning.

A Yoga TTC is an in-depth study of your own self, more than learning about the ancient yoga philosophy one learns a lot about their true self.

Bikram Yoga

The schedule of a Yoga Teacher Training course is very intense and you will be attending classes back to back and there maybe times when you want to give up and don’t feel like going further but your heart deep down knows that with every class that you attend you learn something new and that helps you grow, so you keep pushing your limits beyond your capacity.

The routine of starting your days with silence chanting mantras, doing pranayama and going deeper into meditation practices is a purifying process. It cleanses your thoughts, your senses and speech which in return make you a better human and one becomes a more compassionate person.

We all have our own unique journey and go through so many ups and downs in life, a yoga course can be that starting point or prime point in someone’s life from where one feels like a brand new person.

Yoga course has taught me so much about life and how things function in the universe. During my TTC I learnt about Karma (destiny) and how we are all interlinked and connected, which has given my life a reason to look for the positive in every situation, so even when I go through tough times I know that this is an opportunity for me to grow and become a better version of myself.

During a Yoga Course one learns about the ancient old Indian Philosophy practiced to connect oneself with the divine source, so clearly one learns that all of us have a big mission in this lifetime that we need to fulfil and by basing our life on the Yoga philosophy we do more than just exist.

The education received at Shivoham Yoga is very holistic and students feel so much more capable in their body and are able to do so much more, it gives them a feeling of empowerment. So be on the level of mind, body or emotions students are able to face everything and have the right tools to overcome it.

At some point you may feel that you have to go through the same thing over and over again, but every passing by day brings so much growth, your mind expands to such an extent that its overwhelming to receive so much of information and to process that it takes a long time and the learning is something that never stops, so many students come back and continue to learn and explore more on this spiritual path.

I would like to conclude saying the Yoga Teacher Training in Bali is an experience one must go through to discover the truth about themselves and get in touch with their true self.
